Clelian Adult Day Center - CT - New Haven
In the spirit of Mother Clelia Merloni, Foundress of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus , the staff and volunteers of Clelian Center seek to meet the spiritual, psychological, social and caring environment. The primary mission is to preserve a feeling of self-worth and dignity in each person especially those who need special care. The therapeutic intergenerational program is designed to enhance the quality of life of each of its participants; the Center staff strives to promote daily interaction between children and adults. Clelian Center is a place where every person, young or old, is valued as a unique individual.
Description:
Clelian Center is a day program (Monday thru Friday 7:30 am- 4:30 pm) that is full of socialization, therapeutic recreation, good food, medical assistance and lots of fun. Everyone has a good time and their families can have peace of mind that their loved one is safe and well taken care of.Volunteers assist in activities such as card playing, scrabble games, providing music or singing talents, assisting with water therapy once a week at the pool. Volunteers are needed to help with our fundraiser which is a dinner auction. We need help acquiring gifts and making baskets and transporting these gifts to the banquet hall. Any one with skills in marketing, art, publicity crafts are always welcome.
History:
In Sept. 2008, the Clelian Adult Day Center completed 20 years of service to the greater New Haven community.We have a wonderful reputation. The staff takes care of the elders as if they were their own family member. Activities are personalized to everyones likes, needs and abilities.
