Agency Details:
Campus Girl Scouts
To provide students of Yale University a means of identifying with the Girl Scout Movement and opportunities through fellowship and leadership for service within Girl Scouting and the college community.
Description:
Campus Girl Scouts will consist of Yale undergraduate students who help to bring the Girl Scout Program to the girls in our local communities. Through these trained and dedicated people, the benefits of Girl Scouting reach girls and provide them with high quality learning activities. While serving as role models and mentors, Campus Girl Scouts share their life and career experiences, specific skills, and a real desire to improve the life of each girl. These students will reap unexpected benefits from their volunteer experience.
History:
Campus Girl Scouts is a student-run organization at Yale which was started in 2007-2008. This organization provides opportunities for students to improve their own skills (from archery to goal setting to conflict resolution); help improve their own organizational, time-management, and communication abilities; make themselves more confident and capable within their family and community; and open up doors to special opportunities, travel, and friendships with other adults they respect and enjoy. From periodic volunteers to weekly activity leaders, all students can find an opportunity to affect girls’ lives in Girl Scouting.
