The Mission of Harbor Health Services, Inc. is to provide comprehensive community-based services for adults with serious and persistent mental illness and /or substance abuse disorders.

Description:
Harbor Health Services, Inc is a private non-profit corporation providing a comprehensive range of clinical and community support (case management, residential, social and vocational) services to adults with serious and persistent mental illness and substance abuse disorders. HHSI serves as the Local Mental Health Authority for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services providing services to individuals residing in Branford, East Haven, Guilford, Madison, North Branford, and North Haven.

History:
Harbor Health Services Inc. (HHSI)has been in operation for more than 27 years. The agency began as a collaborative effort of local municipalities in an effort to secure funding to provide mental health services and served as an administrative services organization to channel funding to local providers. In 1983 HHSI began providing services directly to individuals in need of support to live and work in the community. HHSI now provides residential services, case management, vocational, social rehab, mental health treatment and substance abuse treatment.
