History:
The Connecticut Chapter of the American Liver Foundation was founded over 25 years ago by Dr. James Boyer of Yale, Joyce Willig a liver transplant patient and Bonnie Goldberg a woman who lost her husband to liver disease. The chapter was an all volunteer organization for 18 years. We now have a staffed office in North Haven, which services the entire state. The chapter raises funds for research and educational programs. The chapter is governed by a board of directors and has a Medical Advisory Committee made up of over 30 doctors and a Associate Medical Advisory Committee made up of the PAs, NPs, APRNs & RNs specializing in the treatment of liver disease.
