St. Martin de Porres Academy offers either tutoring or assisting one of extended program staff. The tutoring program allows students who are struggling with a particular subject to benefit from one-on-one or small group learning outside of the classroom. Volunteers generally commit to either an hour in the morning or the afternoon for one day a week. Mornings from 8:30am to 11am, tutors commit to one day a week to assist teachers with reading writing and math. Afternoons from2:50pm to 3:50pm is reserved for homework club for quiet study and academic help. Volunteers also assist the staff and faculty in the extended day activities from Monday to Friday from 3:45 to 5:00 pm. Emphasis is on sports, cultural and artistic enrichment. We welcome volunteers to create new adventures for the students or to provide special programs if you have a unique skill, whether it be social, academic or artistic.
