Volunteer Opportunity Details:

"A Day For You" is a free and confidential program available to promote breast health awareness to the medically underserved/ uninsured in the Greater New Haven area.

The program offers a free mammogram, clinical breast care education workshop.

Volunteers are needed to promote this one day event in local communities. The following are the positions available:

• "FRIENDS" VOLUNTEER - Assist women in need of follow-up services with navigating the health care system (Commitment Required: volunteer five times during the next 12 months).
  
  
• HEALTH FAIR VOLUNTEER - Educate participants about breast health and the importance of earlier detection (Commitment Required: volunteer for four events during the next 12 months).
  
  
• COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATOR - Educate participants about breast health and the importance of earlier detection (Commitment Required: volunteer for four events during the next 12 months).

Requirements:



• All volunteers positions must: possess reliable transportation; speak English; complete necessary training and be comfortable speaking with people.
  
  
• "Friends" Volunteer position must be familiar with the health care system.
  
  
• "Community Health Educator" volunteer position must be comfortable talking in front of small groups.
