To protect and preserve artifacts and materials as they relate to Yarmouth's history. To provide educational resources, such as reference materials, lectures or school programs to help educate the public about Yarmouth's proud heritage.

Description:
The Yarmouth Historical Society is a multi-faceted organization that maintains a free public museum, assists with historical and genealogical research, catalogs archives and artifacts and serves the public at large. Volunteers are needed to help us with our mission. We need individuals who are interested in helping us to digitize our collections. We need front desk/gift shop help. Volunteers are also needed to serve on committees, such as the Education, Collections or House Tour committees. We are also looking for individuals willing to transcribe historic documents or verbal histories. And to help out at special events, such as our Lecture Series, House Tour or Heirloom Days.

History:
The Yarmouth Historical Society was founded in 1960 by a group of dedicated Yarmouth citizens. It has served the public for nearly 50 years.
