Mercy's mission is to carry out the healing work of Christ by providing clinically excellent, compassionate health care for all, with special concern for the poor and disadvantaged.

Description:
Mercy offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, educational, and support services. We are a private, nonprofit, community hospital providing medical, surgical, and obstetrical services, treatment for addictions, and a variety of outreach and educational services. The role of a volunteer at Mercy is to supplement the services provided to patients, serve patients and their families, and support the staff in their daily work.

History:
Established by the Sisters of Mercy in response to a major flu epidemic, Mercy Hospital opened its doors as the Queens Hospital in 1918. Building on the helping tradition of the Sisters of Mercy, founded by Mother Catherine McAuley in Dublin, Ireland, in 1831, we have grown. This heritage is central to our mission.
