Frannie Peabody Center is committed to compassionate care for the community infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS in Maine. The Center helps the community face and fight the realities of the disease by providing prevention education and direct services, including housing, information, education, advocacy, and counseling services. Frannie Peabody Center treats the whole person with dignity, care and compassion.

Description:
The Frannie Peabody Center (formerly The AIDS Project) is a non-profit organization committed to a comprehensive and compassionate response to HIV/AIDS. Frannie Peabody Center serves Cumberland and York counties with offices in Portland and York. Our clients include people living with HIV/AIDS, their families, friends, partners, and caregivers. FPC maintains the statewide toll-free AIDS/STD hotline for information and support. We are an anonymous HIV-antibody test site and counseling center.
Case managers provide information, advice, support, advocacy and referrals to clients who face a host of issues in their lives.

History:
The Frannie Peabody Center (formerly the AIDS Project) was founded in 1985 by a small group of concerned volunteers. Since that time it has remained committed to the founders vision of a "comprehensive and compassionate response to HIV/AIDS". In January of 2001 the Kittery office was established at Landmark Hill Community Resource Center to more adequately serve the needs of those in Southern York county.
The Frannie Peabody Center continually looks to supply services to those in need, and change as the needs arise.
