Faith in Action Community Connection

Our mission is to offer free services to residents of Hancock County with needs not now being met, focusing on the elderly and disabled, to help them live their lives to the fullest capacity.

Description:
We train and coordinate volunteers in Hancock County to assist elderly and disabled people with transportation, friendly visits, chores, shopping, simple home repairs and telephone reassurance. Volunteers are screened, trained and matched with requests for help.

History:
The program was started in September, 2003, with a one-time only start-up grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Faith in Action program. The program is now a 501 (c) 3 organization, governed by a board of directors and with a full-time Program Director and supported financially with funds raised from the community.
