Advocates for Children's mission is the prevention of child abuse and neglect in Androscoggin County.
Description:
Advocates for Children (AFC) operates three programs all focused on achieving our mission. The Parent Resource Center offers a wide range of parent education and support services; the Education Program focuses on teaching children skills and information to protect themselves from abuse and bullying behaviors and providing in-service trainings to professionals; and a home visitation program for new families - Healthy Families Androscoggin - emphasizing prevention and early intervention to get children of to a healthy start in life.

Advocates for Children (AFC) is a community-based private, non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect in Androscoggin County. Anchored firmly in the community since 1978.
