To serve as a leader in improving the health and well being of our community.
Description:
Goodall Hospital opened its doors in 1928 and since then, it has been responding to the healthcare needs of the community. Goodall offers a full-range of services, from 24-hour emergency care, to women's health services, to the latest in diagnostics. State-of-the art technology meshes with a skillful medical team to provide quality service in a family like environment. The hospital continues to grow, with a 50,000 square foot Medical Office building slated to open in October of 2005 and an expansion planned for its Emergency Room in the near future. Goodall has also begun plans for a Medical Campus in Waterboro and has partnered with area hospitals to bring a first-rate cancer care center to Sanford.
History:
Goodall Hospital's legacy began with one man's dream. George B. Goodall began construction of the hospital in memory of his wife, Henrietta. The hospital was still under construction when he died in 1927 and the Goodalls' daughter, Marion (Goodall) Marland, carried the project through to completion in 1928. Today, Goodall Hospital is so much more than a health care facility in Southern Maine. Our commitment to health and well-being reaches beyond our walls. It extends into our children's schools, our civic groups and our neighborhoods. We're committed to building a healthy community because we're a part of it.
