Description:
GMS is a non-profit organization that serves persons with developmental disabilities. Currently, GMS has 9 homes, 2 supported apartments, and 1 Supported Living Option(SLO)in the Greater Portland area. The function of the agency is to provide residential services; assisting people with developmental disabilities to attain the highest quality of life and learn the skills necessary to live as independently as possible. All the homes are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

History:
GMS was founded in 1981 by a group of concerned people who recognized the need for homes for persons with developmental disabilities. The agency is governed by its Board of Directors. Currently, we support 25 consumers in their homes and in the community.
