Would you like to be my friend?
Last updated on September 4, 2008

One-on-one companions can bring great joy to elderly residents who do not have family or friends in the area. Visits might involve playing cards such as cribbage or Skipbo, taking a walk together, sharing travel photos, reading and discussing current events, writing or typing letters, or just chatting about everyday happenings. As is so often true, volunteers will likely gain more than they give by becoming a companion and friend to a resident. Two lives will be broadened and enriched.

Volunteers can schedule visits to residents during the day or evening on week days or on weekends. Visits can be as frequent as desired, with reliability and routine being key issues. A minimum of a two month commitment is requested.
