Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Calling for help can often be the hardest part of getting it. Be that voice on the phone that helps callers with the information they need.
2-1-1 Maine, a state-wide information and referral line, is looking for a team of volunteers to help call specialists with special projects and when call volume is expected to be high (i.e. in times of emergency, during heating season and for special projects). Volunteer to be the first person people call when they need help. Be "on-call" to assist call specialists on a monthly basis for a few hours each month. Volunteers may also assist with the programs' follow-up, quality assurance process.

Volunteers should have basic computer skills (data entry) and good phone skills. Volunteers will need to have a background check and interview. They will be provided with orientation and training.
