Multicultural Peer Support Program Volunteer Multi-Cultural Children and Youth

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on November 20, 2009

Do you have either a Monday or Thursday afternoon a week available during the school year to work with kids in the Multicultural Peer Support Program? The Center for Grieving Children is looking for volunteers to help support elementary and middle school students who have relocated from war-torn countries. Facilitators work together with a small group of children to provide a safe, non-judgemental, and fun environment where children can express themselves. Please call The Center at 775-5216 and speak with Valerie or Patricia. Your help is greatly needed and appreciated!

Volunteers for the Multi-Cultural Peer support group must attend a 15 hour training here at the Center. We also encourage attendence of our 30-hour Facilitators training. We are asked for a one year commitment. Training Dates are in the fall, but please don't wait till then to give us a call. We'd love to hear from you now if you're interested! Volunteer for either the Monday Program which runs October 26, 2009 - mid May, 2010 or the Thursday Program which runs from October 29, 2009 - mid May, 2010. This program runs on the school calendar.
