Southern Maine Community Organizations Active in Disaster (SMCOAD) provides community assistance with preparation, mitigation and recovery after the first 72 hours following a disaster. Organizations and individuals work together to minimize the effects of disaster in their local community. Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster work to promote training and preparedness and facilitate coordination of response and recovery efforts during times of disaster.
