Description:
Womansplace Crisis Center is a comprehensive program providing FREE services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. We are currently seeking volunteers for all aspects of our program.Volunteer opportunities include:
Answering the Crisis Hotline
Medical Accompaniment to Local ER's
Child Care
Community Education and Outreach
Working at our shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence.
All staff including volunteers who provide direct service to our clients will be given a free, mandatory 35 hour training prior to beginning work at Womansplace Crisis Center. This is a comprehensive training covering all aspects of sexual and domestic violence. This training is offered twice per year, in August and in March. History:
Womansplace Crisis Center is a merger of Womansplace, a shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence and (what was formerly known as )Plymouth County Rape Crisis Center. Today, Womansplace Crisis Center offers FREE and CONFIDENTIAL services to survivors of domestic and family violence, rape, incest and sexual assault. Individual counseling, support groups, crisis intervention as well as community education and outreach are available.
