Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on October 19, 2009

The Brockton Blue Dog Shelter has many opportunities available for all levels of volunteers. Whether you only have a few hours a month, or a few hours a week, we have a rewarding way for you to help save the lives of so many dogs.

These are a few of the opportunities available to volunteers:

ANIMAL CARE: Feeding, walking, playtime, grooming etc.
TRAINING: Take a dog to an onsite training class.
VET VISITS: Provide our shelter dogs with transportation to a local vet.
FOSTER CARE: Short and long term care at your home for one of our shelter animals.
GENERAL CLERICAL WORK: Filing, phone calls, making posters and flyers etc.
NEWSLETTER: Helping design and publish our BBDS newsletter, as well as other desktop publishing activities.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Taking pictures of our shelter dogs for adoption websites.
COMMUNITY EVENTS: Help man a booth to bring public awareness to our shelter. These events are local to the area.
FUNDRAISING: Activities range from collecting recyclables to helping at our major fundraising events.
GRANT WRITING: We are desperately seeking a Grant Writer to help us take advantage of the numerous grants that our shelter may qualify for.

Volunteers are required to offer a minimum amount of hours of volunteer time. This is dependent on which volunteer position is desired. Volunteers must also consent to a criminal background check. Volunteers who are under 18 years of age will be offered limited contact with the animals and will primarily be offered fundraising and clerical opportunities due to liability reasons.
