History:
AIDS Rochester, Inc. was founded in 1983 as a grassroots organization serving just a few people from an office located over a bar. Since that time, we have developed into a professionally run agency serving over 1,000 clients a year. We now have four locations within our eight county region. We have supported thousands of people experiencing a life and death struggle. We have prevented countless numbers of people of all ages from becoming infected with HIV. We have also increased knowledge, raised awareness, embraced diversity, fought discrimination, battled hate, and kept fear at bay. Throughout our history, the key to our continuing survival and effectiveness has been our ability to quickly adapt services to rapidly changing needs.
