To ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; and will prevent, control, and cure epilepsy through services, education, advocacy, research.

Description:
The Epilepsy Association of Greater Rochester (d/b/a Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester-Syracuse-Binghamton) is a non-profit human service agency serving the needs of individuals and families affected by epilepsy, seizure disorders and related disabilities in 22 counties of upstate New York.

Programs include information and referral, educational programs, community services which include: service coordination, employment solutions, community habilitation, Traumatic Brain Injury services. We also have family support services, which include: Family reimbursement, parent and adult support groups, short-term counseling, and Stresspite. We also have Residential services and Camp EAGR: a residential summer camp for children with epilepsy.

Volunteer opportunities include helping with our special events, being a camp counselor for a week, and other various activities.

History:
The Epilepsy Foundation was formed in 1977 by a group of concerned parents of children with epilepsy. These parents wanted a local organization to provide epilepsy education to schools, support to parents and families, and services for children with epilepsy.
