Position title: Board Connections Position
Description: If you want to make a real difference, serve on a board of a smaller institution. Your impact will be direct and your satisfaction will be immense!
Board members must be enthusiastic about our mission and able to serve on one or more committees. Board members assist with annual activities such as Dinner Auction, events, annual appeal, youth programs and artist openings. Board members who have skills in areas such as fund raising, volunteer management, arts and connections to the community are welcomed. Following is information regarding board member expectations.

Our Mission: At the Genesee Center for the Arts and Education, we believe that a positive art experience can change a person’s life. We are a community-based not for profit that educates, encourages and inspires all people to create and enjoy the visual arts.

Terms of Office
** 2 years
** May serve 3 consecutive terms (6 years total)
** May reapply after one-year hiatus

Requirements:
** Become a member of the Center at the $100 level or make a $100 donation during your orientation meeting.

Meeting Attendance:
** Attend monthly meetings

Financial Contributions:
** Contribute to the Annual Appeal with at least a $10 donation
** Contribute or solicit donations for the Center or Center events in the amount of $500 annually

Event Participation:
** Attend at least one opening or event for each program per year
** Attend the Annual Evening with the Arts Dinner Auction

Expectations:
Meeting and Event Participation:
** Be available for occasional special meetings or Planning Sessions
** Serve on or chair at least one committee of personal interest and/or expertise
** Actively participate in our two major fundraisers - Annual Appeal and Dinner Auction
** Support other program-related fundraisers as time and interest allow

Actively solicit
** Volunteers for committees, jobs around the Center
** New GCAE members
** Dinner Auction invitees and donations for the event (corporate sponsorships, business donations)
** Annual Appeal and other contributors
** New Board Members
