Volunteer Opportunity Details:

This weekend is an opportunity for those individuals affected by MS and their families to relax, socialize and participate in recreational activities in a safe and supportive environment. Campers come back year after year and for some this is their only vacation opportunity. The weekend will have a disco theme and will offer fishing,camp fires,crafts, Sportsnet clinic, massage and a mystery dinner night featuring the murder mystery play; Murder at the Disco. Most of all the weekend will provide an opportunity for individuals to connect and form lasting friendships with others who are understanding of the disease that affects them. The camp takes place at the Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp in Rush, New York on the weekend of October 24th and 25th, with campers arriving at 2PM on Saturday and leaving at 2PM on Sunday. We need help setting up, running activities, kitchen and serving crew, helping campers "move in" and of course, clean up. Join us for either day or both. You will be helping others and you will have a great time doing so!

Volunteers must complete a volunteer application including a confidentiality statement, Code of Conduct statement and Waver and Release statement. There is no training requirement.

From Rochester, take 390 south to exit 11, route 15 towards Scottsville/Route 251 Rush. Keep left at the fork and follow the signs for route 251 west. Turn left at West Henrietta road/route 15 south and go about 3 miles. Turn left at Honeoye Falls Five Points road and drive about 1 mile. Five points road will be on your right. There are signs for the Rotary Sunshine Camp.
