The Epping Conservation Commission is an appointed town board whose purpose, as described by RSA 36-A, is to recommend "a program for the protection, development or better utilization" of Epping's natural resources.
Description:
The Epping Conservation Commission is composed of up to 7 volunteers, appointed by the Board of Selectmen for three-year terms. The primary qualifications are an interest in conservation and a willingness to serve. No special qualifications are needed to be a member, and if you're not interested in serving as a member, motivated volunteers are always welcome! Our tasks are as varied as the interests of our members. We maintain a website, run an annual canoe race, publish an occasional newsletter, review and comment on state wetlands-fill applications, participate in cleanups, and manage conservation land. If you're interested in any of those things, in Epping, or are interested in anything else conservation-related that you think we ought to be doing, please let us know.
History:
The Epping Conservation Commission was established by vote at town meeting in March, 1967, and has been in continuous existence ever since.
