High Knoll Therapeutic Program
New England Equine Care & Development Fund is a non-profit organization designed to provide enhanced equine care and equestrian education using the horse as the primary teaching tool through hands-on educational programming, exhibitions, competitions, boarding and training, recreation, entertainment and therapy for all ages.
Description:
High Knoll Therapeutic Program is part of the of High Knoll Equestrian Complex. We provide recreational horseback riding and equine assisted activities for people with disabilities. We give riders the opportunity for learning, exercise and fun with horses. Our NARHA certified instructors safely provide the benefits of riding to individuals with the following challenges: Mentally and Emotionally Impaired, Developmental Delay, Downs Syndrome, Emotional Disability, Hearing Impairment, Learning Disability, ADD, ADHD, Mental Retardation, Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke, Visual Impairment. For some people riding will be contraindicated to their condition. At this time we are not able to accommodate rider's who need wheelchair access.
History:
High Knoll Therapeutic Program is accepting riders on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Our horses have been well trained and are excited about their new jobs.
