Seacoast Adopt-A-Block
To provide a safe and welcoming environment for all of the Seacoast's Teens. The organization's hope is to provide an area where teens can learn, thrive, and grow with one another.
Description:
The Conquest Community Teen Center is a facility that is available to all teens who reside on the seacoast of New Hampshire. The facility was built and remodeled completely through donations and support from the surrounding community. The goals for C.C.T.C. is to have a center for tutoring after school four days a week, to have the ability to have various classes for the teens to attend while they spend their time at the center. The main goal is for teens to be able to go to a place where they are safe after school and have the resources available to them at the center so that they can thrive as individuals and grow as a community.
History:
Conquest Community Teen Center was started by Seacoast Adopt-A-Block and community ambassadors of New Hampshire's seacoast community. Tammy is the director of the program "Adopt-A-Block" which volunteers their time and services to the community in need. Tammy had many teens come forth and help in the "Adopt-A-Block" program, and eventually bring more and more teens in from their communities. Through connecting with the teens it was believed that the teens on the seacoast of New Hampshire need a safe and enriching environment for them to go at any time of the year. From this event the Conquest Community Teen Center has been established. Volunteers have donated time, funds, and skills to build the center into a community. The teens and volunteers have donated televisions, pool tables, game consoles, furniture, and services. Many volunteers are artistically inclined and have offered to guide the teens in art, music, drama, dance, and school help and tutoring. This is where we are today, there is a space where teens can go and have a fun and enriching experience in a safe environment, however there is still more to be done to make it the best place for the teens.
