Wings And Hooves Therapeutic Riding, Inc.

Wings and Hooves Therapeutic Riding, Inc. aims to enhance the lives of individuals living with physical, emotional, and developmental challenges by building confidence through equine-assisted activities and partnerships.

Description:
Wings and Hooves believes in the natural therapeutic value, wisdom, and strength of a horse. It is the program’s experience that horses permit their riders to fly – soaring high above their challenges. Therefore, Wings and Hooves only uses horses appropriate for each rider’s abilities and maintains high program standards for the riders’ and horses’ best interests. Wings and Hooves is committed to making sure its eligible riders benefit from the approved therapeutic riding methods, especially focusing on the development of the equine-rider partnership by supporting both the horses and riders during engaging lessons led by certified instructors and assisted by enthusiastic volunteers. It distinguishes itself from similar programs because it does not charge for its services, depending instead on solicited donations and fundraising initiatives. Wings and Hooves is always looking for volunteers to assist during lessons, in the office, or with special events!

History:
Wings and Hooves has been providing services to a small number of eligible, local participants in the East Kingston community since 2005. After realizing the impact the organization had on a small number of individuals, the founder applied for 501(c)3 status in order to help more people to fly hoof by hoof.
