We schedule high school credit courses in Dover and other high schools in the county, varying by term. We are a GED testing center. +/-200 people pass the GED here each year. We provide English for Speakers of Other Languages classes in Dover and we administer the Strafford County Adult Tutorial Program for adults unable to attend classes and/or needing additional assistance. We provide life skills classes for clients of Community Partners and we provide a vocational class for people on public assistance. We offer classes from astronomy to computers, cooking, drawing, crafts, digital photography, Reiki, and whittling. Our on-site computer teaching lab features small classes at convenient schedules.

For over a year I've worked with an individual on literacy. It started with her requesting help for a course she was taking, but transitioned into addressing her needs around writing. I've gained a whole new perspective on how lucky I am and the difficulties that illiteracy poses in what I consider "everyday" activities. posted by ameyer on February 19, 2004 |
