Agency Details:
Hampton Community Coalition
HCC is a non-profit community action group working to improve the health and well being of all Hampton Area children and families, particularly those caught in difficult life transitions or without a permanent home.
Description:
The Coalition consists of several volunteer action teams addressing specific areas of community support for families in need of assistance. We coordinate projects such as the gathering and distribution of food and household items, a walk-in information and resource center to connect people with local support services, parent education programs, and youth mentoring and after school activities. Our programs take place both at Hobbs House and in the Hampton schools.
History:
Formed in 1995 as a partnership between community volunteers and the schools, the coalition continues to organize local volunteers and resources in creative ways, building a caring community that responds to the needs of others. The coalition has grown into a comprehensive all-volunteer support network for the town - a grassroots effort - and there are many ways to become involved, from donating detergent to working at the Help Desk to developing new program ideas.
