Agency Details:
Dover Children's Center
Our mission is to provide affordable, high quality child care to all persons in the city of Dover and surrounding communities, for children 6 weeks to 12 years. Priority in placement is given to children from low-income families, and children with social, behavioral, or educational needs. We accept all clients regardless of race, creed, color, religion, political affiliation or beliefs, national origin or handicaps.
Description:
DCC is a non-profit organization providing full-time child care, as well as before and after school childcare, and school-age summer program. We are licensed for 77 children. Included in our program are breakfast, hot lunch and snack, prepared by a full-time cook. There are also pre-school and kindergarten components. The teachers work closely with the Dover Public School's Preschool Dept. in the Early Intervention Program. This helps to identify children at an early age that may have developmental or learning delays.
History:
Dover Children's Center moved to Back River Road in November of 2000. Previously we operated at 107 Broadway in Dover as Dover Day Care Learning Center. We had been operating there for over 30 years, serving about 40 children at that time, ages 3-10 years old.
