The mission of The Mark Wentworth Home is to provide a supported environment where seniors can maintain physical and mental functioning while continuing to engage in a meaningful life. We will do this by providing the structure of services and amenities needed by seniors to use their capabilities to adapt and adjust to aging in a successful way.

Description:
In 1911, a non-profit corporation was established to provide nursing care to "chronic invalids". This care was to be provided at the then empty Mark Wentworth Home. Since that time, the Home has been operating and has earned a reputation for providing the best care in the seacoast area. The Mark Wentworth Home is now a state-of-the-art senior living community designed to create a culture of successful aging for our Assisted Living and Nursing Home residents.

History:
The Mark Wentworth Home was formerly known as the Governor John Wentworth House. It has been an historic house for more than two centuries. The Home is thought to have been built about 1762 and was the home of the last Royal Governor, John Wentworth. Governor Wentworth described the home as a "a small hut with little comfortable apartments". This "small hut" is now registered on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered to be one of the finest architecturally built homes in the region, during the eighteenth century.
