History:
Operation Blessing, Inc started out of the home of Rick and Rachel Sparkowich in 1978 after Rachel had visited a family that had many material needs. By getting personally involved and alerting her friends, relatives, and church folks of the need, items began to flow into her home. As 1981 drew to a close, 25 families were being helped out of the Sparkowich home. After many years of service, Operation Blessing has their own facility in Portsmouth,N.H. They have 40+ affiliated churches with O.B. coordinators, a staff and volunteer force of approx. 75 people and service over 70 communities in the Southern Maine and Southeastern parts of New Hampshire.

More meaningful & fulfilling than any job!

Operation Blessing, Inc. is a wonderful organization that takes in donations & gives them away. They are funded & supported by donations with the majority of the workers unpaid. They are a group with a common goal & a common mind set: to help those in need in the community. They are so friendly & full of smiles. I was able to receive a few things that I needed from them as well. I am out of the area now, but plan to return to volunteer when I move back. I highly recommend this positive environment for anyone looking to volunteer.
