To aid in a caring and compassionate way, the resettlement of new refugees into the United States while helping to achieve each individual's status of self-sufficiency.
Description:
The Interfaith Refugee Resettlement Program (IRRP) is one facet of Lutheran Social Services of New England. IRRP was established in 1997 and has been resettling refugee families throughout New Hampshire since that time. The program resettles refugees from many countries and of many faiths. With this program, newly arriving refugees are resettled in New Hampshire with the aim of becoming self-sufficent. Services provided include: case management services, language translation, job development and medical assistance.
History:
Lutheran Social Services of New England is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, but serves people in need regardless of their background or beliefs. Volunteers and employees are not required to profess the Lutheran or even the Christian faith, but instead have a desire to provide service to those in need. The Interfaith Refugee Resettlement Program is one of the refugee programs, and was established in 1997. Since that time the program has been aiding families throughout New Hampshire with a primary focus in the areas of Manchester, Concord and Laconia.
