Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on August 12, 2009

Volunteers staff our church location in Rochester; providing our homeless population with a safe, warm place to be during the daytime hours. Each shift runs from 830am to 230pm; broken into two 3.5 hour shifts. This time is well spent helping residents find city social agencies, filling out job applications, listening to residents' concerns of hopelessness and fear.

Each volunteer needs to be 21 and have a clean criminal background check. This opportunity is open to some many possibilities: Social service, behavioral science, health care students/interns do well with this volunteer opportunity often completing needed observational hours for college credits. Older, retired volunteers make a difference while sharing their life experience and wisdom. Young mothers with school aged children have the compassion to understand our often single parents in need of being heard.
