Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on July 30, 2009 |
Brain Injury is often devastating for the isolation it creates in people's lives as they are separated from their work, friends, hobbies and social opportunities. SteppingStones offers members a chance to reconnect, but it is only effective if members can get here. Can you help our members out? Our members love coming to SteppingStones, but many of them are not able to drive following a brain injury (i.e. stroke, motor vehicle accident, construction injury), and have difficulty finding transportation to our program. Even one day a week can make a huge difference in quality of life for someone who is housebound.
We are looking for volunteers who can drive our members to and from the program. You would be using your own car, your own auto insurance, and making arrangements with your riders to reimburse you for gas expenses.
SteppingStones meets from 9:30-2 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We have members seeking rides to and from Exeter, Stratham, Rochester, Dover, Portsmouth and surrounding communities. If you drove, you would be welcome to stay and join our activities, or run your own errands in Portsmouth and return at 2 pm to collect your rider.
You need your own car and auto insurance. You need to be a licensed driver. A background check will be performed. This opportunity is sponsored by: SteppingStones
