Agency Details:
Horse Power In Kansas
Our mission is to provide therapeutic programs for persons with special needs and behavioral challenges through equine facilitated learning.
Description:
Volunteers are the heart of the program. Students ride the horse with the assistance of volunteers. Each student has a horse leader and a person on each side of the horse. We play lots of games, sing, and ride outside. The kids really like hitting the balloon and playing basketball on the horse. The students are getting physical and occupational therapy while riding. If you have the heart and soul to help children laugh, smile and enjoy life for just a little while, this is for you. If you love horses, this is for you. Come and see the miracles
History:
We are in our 6th year. There are 12 students that come one hour a week. Classes are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights at 6 and 7:30. We are small, but everyone enjoys themselves.
