Our Mission
Brewster Place is a retirement Community providing all of its residents opportunities for an optimal quality of life.
Our Vision:
Brewster Place will maintain and enhance its reputation as the most desirable continuing care retirement community in the Topeka area by sustaining a leadership role in setting standards of care which meet or exceed resident expectations. We will remain a Christian based not-for-profit organization while increasing our ties to the Topeka Community.
Description:
What Can You Do To Make a Difference?
Non-profit organizations like Brewster Place could not successfully carry out their mission without the help and service of faithful volunteers. Volunteers are an essential component of the services offered and we value their loyal contributions. This includes our own residents as well as family members and friends from the greater Topeka Community. We rely on these folks to carry out our work and mission.
In 2007 we are expanding our volunteer program at Brewster Place.
Brewster Place is seeking caring and compassionate individuals who are interested in making a difference in the lives of our elders. What can you do to make a difference? To find out 1,000 ways (yes, there is a list) to volunteer please contact us.
History:
Roy and Frances Engler are credited with originating the idea of starting a retirement community.
Groundbreaking ceremonies for Brewster Place took place on December 2, 1962 and construction of the facility was completed in April 1964.
