Description:
Kansas Children’s Service League (KCSL), a private not-for profit agency, has been dedicated to meeting the changing needs of children and families in Kansas since 1893. In 1993, the League merged with the Kansas Committee for the Prevention of Child Abuse and by doing so became the Kansas Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and expanded our prevention service continuum to include the Community Resource Library, Parent Helpline, Parents Helping Parents Support Groups, Child Abuse Prevention Month activities, and the Governor’s Conference on the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. Last year, more than 45,000 children, youth and families called upon the League for help. KCSL currently has approximately 246 staff in 22 offices around the State. KCSL is a charter member of the Child Welfare League of America and is the Kansas chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and Circle of Parents, Inc. The League has achieved national accreditation from the Council on Accreditation and is a member of 7 United Way agencies across the state. Programs available in Topeka include Healthy Families, Case Management, Juvenile Intake and Assessment, Mental Health services, Oasis - Runaway and Homeless Youth, Parent Education, Resource (Foster) Family Services, Adopt Kansas Kids, Heart to Home private adoption services, Advocacy, Parent Helpline, Child Abuse and Neglect training, Community Resource Library, and Community Service Program for Suspended and Expelled Students.
