Garfield Community Center
The mission of this Community Center and the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for citizens, including both residents and visitors of Topeka, in that the center will be free from intimidating, illegal, disruptive, and anti-social behavior. This center is a place for persons from all walks of life to commingle, socialize, and learn from one another regardless of race, religion, national origin, handicap, gender, or age. In order to achieve and maintain this environment, the center has adopted rules and a code of conduct regulating behavior. Upon your initial visit to this center, you were given a copy of the rules and code of conduct. Before utilizing our facilities, we encourage you to become familiar with the rules and strictly adhere to them. If there are any questions, please ask our staff for assistance. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
Description:
Our agency is a community based recreation center that provides recreational services for the citizens of Topeka. We also partner with Topeka 501 and Qunicy grade school to provide after school tutoring and care for Quincy elementary school students.
