Description:
TARC, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving children and adults with developmental disabilities. Our Children's Services program serves children birth to age 3 and provides special education, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language therapy services through integrated services in the community. Our Adult Services program provides Day Services, Production Work, Supported Employment and Senior Services.
History:
TARC, Inc. was founded in February, 1954, by a group of parents seeking services for their children with mental retardation. From those humble beginnings, TARC, Inc. has grown into a corporation serving over 1,005 persons with developmental disabilities in Shawnee County. TARC, Inc. currently has 148 staff and two locations: Our main office at 2701 S. W. Randolph Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66611 and a satellite office at 1800 S. W. 42nd Street, Topeka, Kansas 66609.
