The Marian Clinic

Marian Clinic will, in the spirit of the Sisters of Charity, reveal God's healing love by improving the health of the individuals and communities it serves, especially those who are poor or vulnerable. As a primary health care provider we provide access to high-quality medical and dental services for uninsured persons of limited means.

Description:
A dedicated staff plus volunteer doctors and nurses offer appointments and treatment for Shawnee County residents18 years and older at the medical site (1001 SW Garfield Avenue.) After an appointment with a physician, patients may be referred to Specialized health care providers at no charge. They will see patients in their own offices or at the hospitals. A dental team supplemented by two volunteer dentists provides care for men, women and children throughout the region. All patients must meet financial guidelines and be without health insurance in order to be Marian Clinic patients. The Clinic takes a holistic approach and is able to facilitate many services for its patients including diagnostic tests, medications, hospitalization, preventative education, mental health consultations and counseling. A women's health program offers regular examinations and recommended screenings for breast and cervical cancer.

History:
The Marian Clinic opened its doors in January 1988. Since that time the number of staff and volunteers has grown steadily to meet the need for service. Currently the Clinic employs 45 persons. In the upcoming year we expect to provide between 17,000 and 18,000 patient visits at the two sites.
