The mission of Easter Seals Capper Foundation is to enhance the independence of people with disabilities, primarily children. The Capper Foundation Easter Seals provides Occupational, Physical, Speech and Recreation Therapy services for children between 0 and 21 years of age. Daily programing includes an on-site Pre-school and Child Care Program, and Therapeutic Recreation Program for children. Physical, Occupational and Augmentative Communication services are provided both on-site and off-site.

Description:
Easter Seals Capper Foundation serves children and adults whose primary disability is physical in nature. Some examples include: cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, developmental delays and other neuromuscular, orthopedic and sensory-motor conditions. We enhance the independence of people with disabilities, primarily children, so that they can speak, learn, write, play, be mobile, work and function as independently as possible. Volunteers contribute services in a wide variety of direct and indirect service roles; including classroom assistance, Guest Readers in Media Center, assistance with recreation and sports activities, assistance with special events, mailings and eBay research.

History:
Easter Seals Capper Foundation was started in December,1920 by Senator Arthur Capper. Senator Capper contributed generously of his time and means in the interest of the children during his life time, and made a substantial bequest upon his death. In collaboration with families and educational professionals, we build the abilities and independent life skills of persons with disabilities by applying ideas, services, education, therapies and equipment, and by providing training for those who live and work with them. Services are provided at The Capper Foundation Easter Seals or in the community.
