Description: The Veterans Affairs Medical Center has a need for CERAMICS INSTRUCTOR volunteers

Duties would include:
• Assist veteran patients with ceramic projects
• Teach sculpting techniques
• Instruct patients with clay building
• Socialize with veterans

Schedule / Time: T, TH 9:00-11:30am, 1:30-3:30

Qualifications:
• Minimum age : 14
• Knowledgeable in sculpting
• Pleasant and cheerful personality
• Neat and clean appearance
• Able to report on time and stay in allotted time frame, Dependable
• Willing to accept and follow directions
• Must able to speak clearly
• Good listening skills
• Ability to work with veterans with a variety of disabilities
• Have a mature and caring attitude
• Able to work without close supervision

• New Volunteer Orientation
• Tuberculosis Testing
• Fingerprinting
• Background Checks.
Note: All requirement costs are paid for by the facility.
Must be able to work with veterans with a variety of illnesses including psychiatric issues.

Directions:

The main entrance to the VA Medical Center is located on Gage Blvd one block South of 21st & Gage. The volunteer office is located on the east side of the facility and can be reached by taking the perimeter road. When you see the gazebo, you are close to Building 24. Look for the green awning over the east door. Voluntary Service is located inside that door. Once inside, take the hallway to your left; we are room A120.   Nearest Bus Stop: Gage & 21st Street, 5 minute walk
