Description: The Veterans Affairs Medical Center has a need for ENTERTAINER volunteers

Duties would include:
• Review materials with supervisor
• Set up room
• Prepare instrument/voice/equipment (Volunteer will supply own instrument/equipment)
• Greet veterans upon arrival
• Socialize with veterans
• Play instrument/sing/perform/teach
• Take down set up

Schedule / Time: As established by Therapeutic Recreation Staff

Qualifications:
• Minimum age : 18
• Pleasant and cheerful personality
• Neat and clean appearance
• Able to report on time and stay in allotted time frame, Dependable
• Willing to accept and follow directions
• Patience
• Good listening skills
• Have a mature caring attitude
• Ability to work with veterans with a variety of disabilities
• Lifting, stooping, bending, pulling, walking
• Able to perform (i.e. sing, play instrument, speak, etc) for a hospital environment
• Professional demeanor

Requirements: Volunteer must attend and clear:
• New Volunteer Orientation
• Tuberculosis Testing
• Fingerprinting
• Background Checks.
Note: All requirement costs are paid for by the facility.
Must be able to work with veterans with a variety of illnesses including psychiatric issues.

Directions:

 The main entrance to the VA Medical Center is located on Gage Blvd one block South of 21st & Gage. The volunteer office is located on the east side of the facility and can be reached by taking the perimeter road. When you see the gazebo, you are close to Building 24. Look for the green awning over the east door. Voluntary Service is located inside that door. Once inside, take the hallway to your left; we are room A120.
