Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Description: The Veterans Affairs Medical Center has a need for National Golden Age Game Assistant volunteers

Duties would include:
• Assist facility staff with veteran patient(s) from EKHCS on trip to National Golden Age Games
• Escort veterans
• Remind veterans of events, meetings, and meal times
Run errands

Schedule / Time: M-F 8:00am-4:00pm

Qualifications:
• Minimum age : 18
• Able to interact with others
• Able to work unsupervised
• Able to report on time and stay in allotted time frame, Dependable
• Willing to accept and follow directions
• Ability to remain silent and focused during competition
• Pleasant and cheerful personality
• Neat and clean appearance

Requirements: Volunteer must attend and clear:
• New Volunteer Orientation
• Tuberculosis Testing
• Fingerprinting
• Background Checks.
Note: All requirement costs are paid for by the facility.
Must be able to work with veterans with a variety of illnesses including psychiatric issues.

Directions:

The main entrance to the VA Medical Center is located on Gage Blvd one block South of 21st & Gage. The volunteer office is located on the east side of the facility and can be reached by taking the perimeter road. When you see the gazebo, you are close to Building 24. Look for the green awning over the east door. Voluntary Service is located inside that door.
