This volunteer position enables you to become a true child advocate, helping the court determine what is in the best interest of the child, while keeping a watchful eye on the child and the proceedings. Volunteers investigate on behalf of the court, advocate for the child's best interest, monitor the court's orders and facilitate with all individuals/agencies involved with the child. Our volunteers actually become the "eyes and ears" of the court, helping the Judge make the best decision for the child. Volunteers are asked to give at least one year to this volunteer position, longer if the child remains in the system.

Each certified CASA volunteer must pass background checks, be fingerprinted, complete an application form, obtain three references and participate in an interview with CASA staff. Once these requirements have been met, volunteers will complete a 22-hour training program, taught by CASA staff, community experts and certified CASAs. Each CASA is assigned to a staff volunteer supervisor who is there to guide and direct the CASA in their role as an advocate for the child.

Our office is located in the Downtown Ramada Inn. You can park at the Ramada entrance off of 6th street - just over the interstate. Enter the Ramada go past the front desk and all the way through - a fountain will be on your right. Go through the doors that lead to the Regency Ballroom.
