Description:
Family & Children's Services carries out its mission by providing a comprehensive range of services, including therapeutic, educational, case management, home-based support and basic needs services. Our agency's service continuum allows clients access to a variety of services with the agency. Our agency services are client and family centered, individualized, strength-based and culturally sensitive and are always voluntary, with inherent respect for the diversity, dignity, and right to self determination of all clients. Services are provided at time in home-based and community-based locations accessible to clients and their families. Where applicable, fee may be charged on a sliding scale. No client is denied access for financial reasons. Service hours are flexible to accommodate client needs.
History:
Founded in 1893, Family & Children's Services began as the Charity Organization Society. It was joined in 1898 by the Elizabeth Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Our commitment to these two organizations continues today with particular emphasis on disadvantaged families and vulnerable children, as we continue to provide a wide array of innovation and professional quality children's welfare, mental health and family services to children, youth, and adults of all ages in Union County and surrounding areas.
