UI Dance Marathon

The University of Iowa Dance Marathon creates and sustains special projects to provide emotional and financial support and services for pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant patients and their families treated at University of Iowa Children's Hospital at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Description:
The University of Iowa Dance Marathon is a year-round volunteer, social, and funraising organization. Dance Marathon culminates with a BIG Event which is a 24-hour dance marathon. All Dancers that have raised the required amount of money are invited to participate in this BIG Event." Over 600 family members sponsored by Dance Marathon participate in the event and many for the full 24 hours.

Dance Marathon 14 raised an amazing $1,003,646.14!
An all time record number of students participated in the big event, totaling over 1000 dancers.

History:
The University of Iowa Dance Marathon has been providing emotional and financial support to children with cancer and their families since 1994. To date Dance Marathon has raised over 6.5 million dollars.
