At some time in our lives, we all will face the terminal illness of a family member or dear friend. Having people to turn to for help in making each day, even the last one, worth living is invaluable. That’s what Evergreen Hospice is all about.
Description:
Evergreen Hospice and Palliative Care volunteers provide support to help families through the difficult time associated with the loss of a loved one. Volunteers attend a comprehensive training to better understand ways to support people at the ends of their lives. Volunteer opportunities include companionship, life review, respite for the primary caregiver, compassionate touch (by licenses practitioners, running errands, animal assisted therapy teams (registered with Delta Society)or light household help. Volunteers are assigned to patients in their own communities.
