Agency Details:
The Furrytale Farm
The Furrytale Farm has a two- fold mission to rescue animals in need and to reduce abuse because we firmly believe that the best way to treat animal abuse is to prevent it. . . .one child at a time.
Description:
The Furrytale Farm is a full-service animal rescue and education facility located on Bainbridge Island, WA and serving the greater Puget Sound region. Abused and abandoned animals have much to teach us, and so a big part of our animal rescue and rehabilitation work revolves around education. If, through working with abused and abandoned animals, we can teach one child or one adult at a time, that kindness to animals comes back to us a hundredfold, then we can achieve our ultimate goal: to reduce animal abuse. Currently, our animal rescue and rehabilitation program extends to horses, donkeys, goats, potbellied pigs, dogs, and cats. In future, we hope to be able to broaden our reach to rescue other kinds of animals and reduce animal abuse. The Furrytale Farm is a no-kill animal shelter.
History:
The Furrytale Farm is in its ninth year of operation. We have had 501c3 status since 2004. The Farm relies on volunteers to help maintain the facility, to assist hands on with the animals, and to participate in fundraising events.
